At Root Solutions we believe that website design is a broad term that encompasses a great deal more than whether a website looks good or not.
“Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks and feels. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works”
Steve Jobs
Website design includes the structure of the sitemap, ensuring that all pages are easy to find through a logical structure. The layout of each page – ensuring that key information is presented clearly, and that the page isn’t overcrowded – is at least as important as the final design aspects of colours and fonts.
We like to work collaboratively with our clients through a series of simple, tried and tested phases aimed at ensuring the final result achieves what they require both aesthetically and commercially. Each phase involves close consultation with the client, and the project won’t progress until the client is happy with each phase.
The design process starts with creating, together with our client a sitemeap that gives an overview of the main sections of the site. Once this is agreed we then create templates and wireframe layouts to illustrate how the various sections of the site will work, focusing on simple and clear navigation and usability. Again these are always finalised and agreed in close consultation with our client. Once the layouts have been agreed, we will work to create full colour designs incorporating the websites branding, colours, fonts and logos. Our aim is always to create a site with its own distinct identity.
We will then translate the final design into a working website. Once the Content Management System, such as WordPress, is installed, we will help you take full control of your content. When the site is populated, we will apply the finishing round of amends, before testing and launch.
We like to believe that we design websites with both style and substance.
“Good design is about making something intelligible and memorable. Great design is about making something memorable and meaningful”
